New i-gel® Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine bibliography published

Featuring all known evidence on the use of i-gel® supraglottic airway device in a resuscitation and pre-hospital setting, the new edition includes even more adult, paediatric and manikin studies, case reports and a section on cardiocerebral resuscitation and passive oxygenation.

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, i-gel remains an important option for managing the airway in the emergency and pre-hospital setting, so the opportunity to review the published evidence for the device at this time is particularly valuable.

You can now download the PDF from the i-gel website and through the Education page.

Clinical evidence on the i-gel is also available to view on our evidence database, which includes all studies mentioned in both this bibliography and the standard version.

We hope you find the bibliography and clinical database useful in reviewing evidence published on the i-gel device.

ClearLite™ anaesthetic face masks

ClearLite is a new range of phthalate and PVC-free anaesthetic face masks available with or without a hook ring.

The range is lightweight and crystal clear with a colour-coded seal for ease of size selection.  The range is available in seven sizes - from 0 (neonatal) through to size 6 (large adult) - to meet the clinical needs of all patient types and sizes.

Due to the enhanced anatomical design and flexible, non-inflatable cuff, the ClearLite mask offers superior seal performance with minimum pressure, reducing the risk of unnecessary discomfort and potential trauma. The superior seal can also assist the clinician in providing optimum manual ventilation of the patient in both the anaesthetic and emergency situation.

As the ClearLite mask is phthalate and PVC free, and is available without a hook ring, it significantly reduces waste and minimises the impact on the environment.

To find out more about the range please visit the product page to review the information sheet and video.

Filtration and humidification

The recent reported outbreak of respiratory infections in the Chinese city of Wuhan has been identified as being caused by 2019-nCoV (2019 Novel Coronavirus).

The number of reports of infection has been rising quickly during January 2020, with 2798 confirmed cases at time of writing.  The current assessment from the World Health Organisation (WHO) is that the risk of this event remains ‘very high’ in China, and ‘high’ at a regional and global level. Keep up to date with the latest news on the WHO website.

The Intersurgical filter range provides an effective barrier that prevents cross contamination between patients, respiratory equipment and the clinical environment.  We provide a choice of electrostatic and pleated mechanical filters that have been independently tested and proven to be highly efficient, providing trusted protection against bacterial and viral cross contamination.
